Warren Bowlus
Recognized for his administrative skills and leadership qualities, Bowlus had gained university-wide support for athletics at his retirement in 1989. Committed only to the highest standards of excellence, his efforts as athletic director led to an expanded budget, staff and facilities, including a $4 million fieldhouse addition that is recognized as a model of its kind. He was guided by what was best for the student athlete.
Joe Bullis
A defensive tackle, he is the only player in Stout's football annals to be selected for first team All-America honors. He was recognized on both the NAIA and Eastman Kodak teams for his defensive play in 1979. A mainstay of Blue Devil squads that earned national acclaim for their defense, he was a three-time all-conference selection and was the conference's most valuable player in his senior year.
Steve Burr
A four-year letter winner, he rewrote the Blue Devil record book from his halfback position. With 2562 yards, he became the first Blue Devil to gain more than 2000 career rushing yards and more than 1000 in a single season, a feat he accomplished twice. Stout's all-time leading scorer with 162 points, he earned the team's most valuable player award and all conference honors in 1978 and 1979.
Donald "Griz" Hansen
For two years, the Blue Devil football team never played a down unless he was on the field. His durability earned him the reputation as an "iron man" as well as all-conference honors at tackle in 1938 and 1939. An outstanding punter, his records stood for years. He received four letters in football.
