Career Exploration Hybrid Course (TRDIS 101)

All undecided students will be encouraged to enroll in the hybrid Career Exploration course as a part of their “Stout Student Success Plan.”

250 students enrolled(Sem. 1 & 2);

70% course participants retained from first to second year; Comparison to entire freshmen cohort

Online Career Exploration resource

All new undecided students are enrolled in Online Career Exploration resource to begin the “Stout Success Plan.”

Transfer Student Orientation

Transfer students participate in half-day registration program and orientation event. Orientation is evaluated and the results are used for improvements.

Undecided Transfer Student Advisement

Undecided transfer students receive academic advisement, career counseling, and resource information.

Summer Teaching and Learning Institutes

Summer Teaching and Learning Institutes delivered to provide faculty/instructors members with training in advisement, engagement, technologies and assessment.

60 faculty members attend Summer Institute and receive training; deeper assessment of impact on instructional practice (focus groups); improved retention of students; improved NSSE scores

Instructor Guidebook

Develop Instructor Guidebook including information on important dates, advisement guidelines, campus resources, etc.  Resource would be both hardcopy and electronic.
500 faculty/staff receive handbook; Survey about usefulness of guidebook and the results are used for improvements.

The e-portfolio is implemented as a method of student learning assessment

Summer institute delivered to provide faculty/instructors members with training and professional development in assessment.
20 faculty members attend Summer Institute and receive training; Eight additional programs have implemented e-portfolio assessment; improved Assessment in the Major reporting

 

E-portfolio Assessment Follow-up Institute: Provided strategies to assess student progress, information on reporting assessment outcomes, and an opportunity to report on program progress with e-portfolio. Resulted in thought-provoking discussions, the development of strategies to measure student progress, and significant improvements in abilities to use student reflections of program objectives to assess student learning and engage other instructors in the student learning assessment process.

e-Scholar assessment data are analyzed and model refined.  e-Scholar assessment model incorporated as a part of  University Assessment plan. 


Assessment model is implemented as a part of University Assessment and the results are used for improvements. (Gen. Ed. Assessment, Assessment in Major, Alumni and Employer Surveys, NSSE, ACT-CAAP, e-Scholar)
Data on impact of             e-Scholar program is collected in various surveys and program specific assessment methods.  Please see reports regarding targets.
