University of Wisconsin - Stout

High school students can earn college credits at the University of Wisconsin-Stout when they successfully complete a Project Lead the Way™ course by earning a grade of 85% or higher and achieving a 70% or higher on the college credit end-of-course exam. Each successful PLTW course will be granted three credits; we will award up to six credits for two high school PLTW courses. UW-Stout does not charge a fee for recording these credits, though a student must be accepted to the university prior to the credits being applied to their transcript. The registration form and instructions can be downloaded directly from this web page using the links below.

At UW-Stout, we are pleased to be working with Project Lead the Way™ to assist students in applying these PLTW courses toward their college credits. We have a long history of helping our students develop the skills they will need to secure a professional career. UW-Stout offers an array of engineering related majors including manufacturing engineering, packaging, construction, engineering technology and applied science to name but a few. For that reason, we are a special mission university that emphasizes a "hands-on, minds-on" philosophy that encourages students to learn not only through the traditional methods of instruction, but also through applying theory to practice. This college environment provides an excellent setting for building upon the foundation core to the engineering courses designed by Project Lead the Way™.

Students who attend UW-Stout will find majors that are constantly adapting to the new demands of business, industry and society. Many students come for a particular program that is not available anywhere else in the UW System. We have developed various world-class programs and are attracting top-notch professors to teach in those areas. This ensures that UW-Stout graduates are ready for the marketplace.
