The significance of this study is three-fold. First, as a resource for professionals to reference when they are looking to implement a Self-directed Work Team structure within their organization.  Second, this study includes a background (literary search) of Self-directed Work Team implementation processes.  This background information provides insight into a best-practices approach to a team implementation.  And finally, this Study gives a practical view of a Self-directed Work Team implementation in a mid-sized manufacturing facility.
