Managers: The Management Team at Marconi Communication included Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Engineering Manager, Controller, Materials Manager, Quality Manager, Human Resource Manager, and Training Manager.

Navigators: The “team name” for the Management team.  Led by the Plant Manager.  Team Charter

Supervisors: The Supervisory Team included the Floor Supervisors, Group Leaders and Manufacturing Engineers over two shifts.  This team included Press Supervisors (2), Paint Supervisor, Assembly Supervisors (6), and Process Engineers (4).

Self-directed Work Teams: A group of people who work together to manage their own internal affairs.

Natural Work Team: A group of people who work together everyday on a common purpose, product or function to improve performance and individual skills through their collective skills & experience.  (Used interchangeably with Self-directed Work Teams for the purpose of this research project.)

Task Team: A team composed of team members with highly specialized skills or viewpoints, brought together from difference functions across the organization for the purpose of solving complicated problems.  The Task Team for Marconi Communications conducted research and made recommendations for the Self-directed Work Team (Natural Work Team) implementation. 

Support Organization: Departments that supported Self-directed Work Teams.  Departments such as Quality, Engineering, Human Resources, Materials, etc…made up the Support Organization for Marconi Communications
