Faculty and staff recognition

Classified Employee of the Month program

Chancellor Charles W. Sorensen established the Classified Employee of the Month program in September 2005 to recognize permanent, classified employees at UW-Stout. Individuals are nominated and chosen for their outstanding performance in support of university goals, special projects, creative ideas, exceptional support of others, or for their extraordinary congenial attitude toward others. Each month, the selected recipient receives a cash award. The chancellor hosts a ceremony at the end of the year to honor all 12 awardees and to present another cash award to one randomly selected awardee.

Chancellor’s Academic Staff Excellence Award

The Chancellor’s Academic Staff Award for Excellence recognizes and invests in academic staff members who demonstrate performance beyond the requirements of their positions and show initiative, creativity and leadership potential for future professional contributions to UW-Stout.

Professorships

UW-Stout offers the Dahlgren and Maybelle Ranney Price professorships to tenured faculty. The competitive professorships allow faculty members to engage in scholarly activities, public service and instruction in ways that will contribute to the university’s mission. The Dahlgren Professorship is two years in length, and the Maybelle Ranney Price Professorship is one year in length. Both professorships include a cash award.

Research awards

UW-Stout’s Outstanding Researcher Award is presented annually to a noteworthy individual for leadership and significant contributions to research and scholarly activities. The Nelva G. Runnalls Research Support Award recognizes individuals and groups that make significant contributions to support research and scholarly activity at the university.
