UW-Stout’s All-Americans

Five UW-Stout athletes earned All-American honors during the recently completed winter sports season.

Center Kelsey Duoss led the Blue Devil women’s basketball team to its third consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III tournament appearances. For the second straight year, Duoss was named both first team Kodak All-American and conference player of the year.

Goalie Mike Stone led the Blue Devil hockey team to its best finish, a 21-5-3 overall record and its first Northern Collegiate Hockey Association title share. Stone was a second team American Hockey Coaches Association All-American.

Blue Devil coach Terry Watkins ’73 was the NCHA coach of the year and runner-up for the Edward Jeremiah Award, the AHCA’s national coach of the year award.

Gymnasts Meghan Hargens and Ashley Timm garnered National Collegiate Gymnastics Association  All-American awards. Hargens was a first team All-American in the all-around and a second team All-American on the floor exercise. Timm was a first team All-American on the balance beam.

Ryan Kawski earned All-American status by finishing seventh in the 35-pound weight throw at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
