HOLLIDAY named JUNIOR DIETITIAN of the YEAR

Mitchel Holliday, BA ’03, MS ’06, MS ’07, was named U.S. Public Health Service Junior Dietitian of the Year in January.
 
Holliday, who is a lieutenant in the USPHS, works at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Central Office of the Health Service Division as a nutrition specialist. The USPHS is one of seven uniformed services of the U.S. government and has 6,000 full-time professionals dedicated to delivering public health promotion and disease prevention programs and advancing public health science.
 
Holliday, also a 2004 College of Human Development Outstanding Student of the Year award winner, received his commission with the USPHS shortly after completing his dietetic internship at UW-Stout in 2006. “I owe much of my professional success to the wonderful staff in the College of Human Development, specifically Dr. Janice Coker, Dr. Ester Fahm and Dr. Ed Biggerstaff.”
