Merlin BS ’50, MS ’52 and Genevieve Moore recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Merlin, formerly the superintendent of management development at Reserve Mining Company, Silver Bay, Minn., is retired and resides in Eau Claire. He is active with his church and World War II P.T. Boat military affairs.

Herbert Watanabe BS ’50, MS ’58, Hilo, Hawaii, has completed 12 years as an elected member of the Hawaii State Board of Education. He was re-elected to a fourth term in November 2008 and currently serves as vice chairman of the 13-member elected body.

Bo Brown Gabriel, ’59 BS, ’75 MS, along with her husband Orv, were recipients of the Good Neighbor Award presented by the Greater Menomonie Area Chamber of Commerce on February 3, 2010.
