UW-Stout has been named a Military Friendly school for the second year in a row.
G.I. Jobs, a magazine for military personnel transitioning into civilian life, today announced its Military Friendly list honoring 1,518 — or the top 20 percent — of 8,000 colleges, universities and trade schools that are “doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students.”
Schools making the list offer scholarships, discounts, veterans’ clubs, full-time staff, military credit and other services to those who served. UW-Stout has a campus veterans committee, a veterans club and an Army ROTC program on campus, along with a veterans’ homepage at www.uwstout.edu/veterans. Under one of the page’s tabs, veterans can find more than 80 types of military jobs matched with majors at UW-Stout.
Last fall, MilitaryTimes, which publishes four magazines for service members and veterans, ranked UW-Stout 78th on the list of the 101 best schools in the U.S. for veterans.
