The following UW-Stout events are photo and video opportunities for the media.

Monday, Sept. 21, The Ally Center at UW-Stout and staff members from the humanitarian organization Invisible Children will show the 40-minute film “The Rescue of Joseph Kony’s Child Soldiers” at 6 p.m. in Ballroom A of the Memorial Student Center. The film is about child abductions in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan by the Lord’s Resistance Army. The LRA uses the children as soldiers. The Invisible Children representatives will facilitate discussion and share information about how to become involved. The program coincides with the Ally Center’s theme “Civil Rights and Civic Responsibility: Change Takes Time — Start Now.” For more information, contact Mary McManus at mcmanusm@uwstout.edu or 715-232-2503.

Monday, Sept. 28, UW-Stout will host a grand opening event for its Merle Price Commons dining hall from 8:30-10:30 p.m. Chancellor Charles W. Sorensen will cut the ceremonial ribbon at 8:30 p.m. There will be tours, prizes, trivia, food samples and a review of the remodeling process.
