Golf enterprise management students at the University of Wisconsin-Stout now have the opportunity to learn a skill that puts them ahead of the competition in the job market.
Fore! Reservations Inc. donated software to the golf enterprise management department at UW-Stout. The Fore! golf course management and marketing software can be used to handle reservations, track sales, e-mail customers, create promotions and build customer profiles so golf course staff can learn what individual customers want.
Students this semester are the first to use the software in a class devoted to teaching it.
“This software aids users to make better business decisions because it has data they can go back and look at,” said Kristine Schoonover, director of the golf enterprise management program. Schoonover approached Fore! Reservations Inc. about incorporating its software in UW-Stout’s classrooms.
“It wouldn’t have been possible without Kris,” said Scott Merchant, marketing director of Fore! Reservations, Inc.
Fore! Reservations, Inc. is a Chicago-based company with a large market share in the United States, especially the Midwest. It has about 2,000 golf courses that use their software.
