University of Wisconsin-Stout student Andy Towner, of Onalaska, is a veteran of the war in Iraq, serving with the National Guard. He played one football season with the Blue Devils before his deployment. Since returning to the United States, Towner has played defense for UW-Stout for three seasons.
Towner relates the teamwork and leadership involved in serving his country to his football and college careers. He is available for interviews to discuss the relationship between his life in Iraq to his life today.
Towner also is one of a dozen seniors graduating from the Blue Devil football squad after this season. He will be recognized, along with all the senior players, during UW-Stout’s last home game Saturday, Nov. 15, against UW-Eau Claire.
