You can't manage "Time"; you can only control what you do with it.
168 hours a week = 24 hours times 7.
Budgeting time is like budgeting money except that you can't get more time.
As you begin to plan your time consider using these tips to help you better organize your tasks.
- Use Tools
- Keep all time management information in the same place
- Keep only one calendar either via your email software, or browsers that have a calendar function
- Instead of the computer you could buy a Weekly Planner
- Track recurring appointments on a daily, weekly and monthly
- Each Monday update and add specific appointments and print out.
- Use the ABC method for prioritizing a To DO list
- A = top priority. Not meeting this has consequences. Mark with an "A", or highlight with a red or orange marker
- B = second priority. An upcoming assignment or project. Mark with a "B", or use a green or yellow marker.
- C = low priority like chores. Mark with a "C", or use a blue marker to highlight, or no marker.
Put a color key of the first page of your calendar noting your prioritized colors.
