QRATE’s initiative is to stir up the shopping experience norm with an online styling service that is driven by donated clothing and non-gender binarism. Individuals can subscribe for personalized clothing bundles that match their preferred measurements and style without the expectation to fit within a gender role. Stylists work to interpret information gathered from online user profiles in order to “thrift” together outfits from an inventory formed by the community and partnering businesses. Part of the profit made from the service would go towards giving free services to qualified persons (such as low-income transgender individuals) and human rights organizations.
