Jon and I met in Andy Bear's typography class, but an encounter at the Marion brought us together. He finally asked me out for our first date while I was working at the Bookstore. I am not sure if hopping from the Buck, to the Marion, to the Log Jam is considered a "date", but that is what it was back in 1981. The rest is history...still together after 25 years! (1 marriage, 2 kids, 5 jobs)

We met in the Alfresco Outing Club in the fall of 1988, and stared dating after a canoe trip down the Brule River in late April 1989. We’ve been in love ever since! We were married on October 2, 1993, and now have two beautiful boys. Chris is 8 ½ and Daniel is 6. We plan to take them canoeing on the Brule River in the near future.

Ok, here goes...Kevin and I met in 1988 at a dance night club that was being held in the Great Hall in the Student Union. We then met up at several house parties before he asked me out on our first official date. First we went to a cafe called the Scarlet Pumpernickel, (I believe is now the Acoustic Cafe) for dinner and we had sandwiches. Then we went to see the movie "Tucker" starring Jeff Bridges.
We got married in 1997 and had a son in 2003; his name is Declan.

Steve and I first met in the lobby of CKTO through a mutual friend, Sheila Doroff. We went on our first official date a few weeks later, chucker golfing - first, last, and only time we ever chucker golfed. It was a double date with friends John Lee and Mitzy Applegate. John was President of SSA and Steve was VP of Legislative Affairs. Following the golf, we had dinner at Ted's - the Ted's special. It is still our favorite pizza.

Scott and I met in the dorms. My friend Kerri and I were visiting a male friend in another dorm, but he wasn’t home. His roommate was though with a friend of his from the floor- Scott. He said “hi” when we were introduced and then insulted me. I was wearing a banana clip and he asked why I had a monkey’s tail on my head. What a jerk I thought, but he grew on me.

We actually met 3 years after we graduated. We met while visiting Stout at homecoming. We had a lot of the same friends and graduated the same time, but didn’t actually meet until 3 years later. We both still like to go to homecoming as often as we can. Incidentally, Scott’s parents met each other while attending Stout. A family tradition I guess.

I was a freshman in the Fall of 1988. I had just met my roommate in our dorm room when there was a knock on the door. We opened it to find a cute blond and brunette. They told us they had been assigned to give us a tour of the campus as part of our freshman orientation. Unbeknownst to me, the blonde (Mary Follensbee, class of 91) went back to her room and told her roommate that she was going to marry me. Fast forward; we married in 1992 and our 15th anniverary is right around the corner.

It was freshmen orientation, the summer of 1987. I walked into a room with a large table with about 10 or 12 other nervous freshmen around it. We were all psychology majors brought together to select classes. I saw this really cute guy sitting alone. I sat across from him. I was too nervous to talk to him, but I really wanted to see him again. I decided that I would look at his class selections and choose all the same courses, that way I could see him again. I came out of that room and told my mom that I had just seen the cutest guy.
The first day of classes rolled around. I walked into my first class. I saw the cute guy. Of course I found a seat near him. We didn’t talk, but I had a plan. My next class came around. There he was again! This time I walked over to him and said, “Hey, weren’t you in my general Psych class?” The day went on and we sat next to each other in every class.
The “cute guy” was Tod. We became really good friends. We were both dating other people at the time. Out friendship lasted through Tod moving to Vegas for a year. We kept in touch. Tod ended up coming back to Stout. Unfourtunately, I was in a serious relationship at the time. I transferred to UW Oshkosh to be with my boyfriend.
We continued to keep in touch. One summer weekend, Tod invited me to come visit him. The first night I was there, Tod professed his love for me. He explained how he knew from the first day we met that I was “the one.” I felt that same. I left my boyfriend and returned to Stout with the cute guy I met at orientation.
The rest is history. We married in 1993 and now have 2 beautiful children.

I was planning on graduating in Dec'93, so I moved from off-campus back into the dorms (Antrim Froggett). I had been a Resident Advisor in North Hall a couple years earlier and was able to move into AF with a friend and former RA from North, Kevin, who was also planning on a Dec'93 graduation. Kevin had just finished another year as an RA in AF, so he was helping cover the front desk while the new year of Fall Semester residents were starting to move in and I was keeping him company. Michelle walked in through the door with her mother, a box of stuff, two beautiful brown eyes, and a little grin on her face. Neither Kevin nor I could help ourselves from straining our necks and peeking out from behind the desk area to watch her go by. Just as she walked through the doorway leading up to the stairwell, Michelle shot a look back over her shoulder at us...BUSTED, like a deer in the headlights! She just smiled again and continued up to her room. We all happened to be on 1st Floor and, with all of us being 21 or older, had plenty of opportunities to go out as a group. It wasn't long before Michelle and I were dating and shortly after Thanksgiving, we were engaged. After completing Graduate School in '95, we married (Sept. 16) and will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary this Fall...20 years since I was first BUSTED!

We met through a mutual friend/classmate. Her roommate and I were in the same English class and were assigned as partners on a project for the class. We spent a lot of time working together on the project. It just so happened that we all lived in Fleming Hall. Her roommate introduced me to my future wife. We started dating and found out that we had mutual friends in common which was really funny because we had never met before. After dating for about a year and a half, I asked her one evening via sign language, all she could do was keep asking if I was kidding. When I reassured her I wasn’t, she accepted my marriage proposal. We went looking for rings and I secretly purchased the one she wanted and presented it to her about a week after I proposed. We were married about a year later (February 14, 1990) in Menomonie and several of our friends stood up for us. We will celebrate our 16th anniversary this year with our 5 year old daughter.
(As a side note to all of this, her roommate married another student who just happened to reside in Fleming Hall in the same room I had. It’s a small world when it comes to love and Fleming Hall.)

We had Abnormal Psychology together with Dr. Harris totally by chance. Kathleen took the class just because she liked Dr. Harris and Arthur originally enrolled in the class as self-paced and had to convince Dr. Harris to let him into the classroom! We went on our first date on Feb. 20,1993 to Tokyo Restaurant and to see the movie "A Few Good Men".

We met at Stout while working together at Fanny Hill in Eau Claire. We remained friends (never dated) over the years and stayed in touch while in different parts of the country. We ended up moving back to Minneapolis (both of us) and started hanging out… the rest is history. We moved “up north” to enjoy the good life and married in 2000 on the ski slopes of Lake Tahoe. We have one son, Coltan who is 3 ½ years old. Both of us went on to further education after Stout. We are looking forward to attending homecoming some year!

I was an assistant in the Campus Computer Labs and she wanted help more often than most. One problem fixed would only create two more questions. There were times when it seemed she was creating problems to fix. I certainly didn't mind spending the extra time with this attractive young lady. We eventually became friends outside of the lab and fell in love. We've been married for 15 years and I'm still lucky enough to be her computer assistant.

Cory and I met during my senior semester at UW-Stout. We still laugh about the fact that we met because I had recently started dating one of his roommates, but that quickly ended once I met Cory. I graduated about 4 months after we met, and I moved to Woodbury MN while Cory finished school and student teaching. Thankfully we continued dating during that period, and he obtained a job as a Technology Education teacher in the Woodbury school district in 1999. We now live in Hudson and have a son who was born in 2006, and another child due in May 2009. Thank goodness for UW-Stout!

Carl and Lana met the fall of 1995. Carl was an RA for 4th floor of Hovlid Hall when Lana was an incoming freshman. One of Lana’s neighbors was interested in Carl so she tried to play matchmaker. Turns out she wasn’t very good at it!

Michael and I were good friends for 3 years. After he graduated in 1998, he moved back to Florida and we stayed in touch. In 1999 he moved back to Wisconsin and he realized it was more than a friendship. He pursued me for many months and finally I gave in and went on a date. Thirteen years later we are happily married and have an 8-yr-old daughter. We moved to sunny Florida nine years ago. Jake's was one of our first few dates.

We met our freshman year at the Vision Quest House. We actually lived on the same floor our first semester but didn't meet until second semester. I had moved to a different dorm second semester, so that was a bummer but we continued to date throughout college. Brian graduated in 1997 and myself in 1998. We were married in October of 1998 and have a beautiful daughter who was born in 2004.

Kevin and I lived on the same floor in Wigen, my freshman year, his junior year. I was having a hard time with the whole college expreince. Kevin's buddy "Studman" was always on the girls side of the floor. "Studman" introduced us and we started hanging out. By the end of that school year we were practically inseperable. We got married in October of 1998, while I finished up my last semester. We have 2 beautiful girls and a handsome boy and still wildly in love! We have not talked to "Studman" in years, but would love to thank him for his "love connection".

Matthew and I had mutual friends. We didn't finally get together until our fourth year, graduation weekend actually. Good thing we took 5 years to earn our degrees. We spent every weekend together that first summer and racked up huge phone bills, as we lived 5 hours apart. We were inseparable once the school year started up again. I actually stayed in his dorm room for first quarter while I student taught. Matthew proposed the night before we graduated in May 1998 and we've lived happily-ever-after ever since. We have two beautiful children and beautiful memories of our days at UW-Stout.
